You spend hours scrolling Pinterest. It takes weeks to nail down every single detail. Even the smallest item can mean the world to you. Your wedding details matter. And we want to capture them. Sometimes detail photos may get overlooked, but we are here to change that! Not only do we absolutely LOVE photographing them, but they add such a nice touch to your final gallery. Not to mention, these little details are important to you on your wedding day, so they deserve to be remembered forever.

So, you are probably wondering…what do you need to do to make this happen? Don’t worry, we got you! When creating your timeline with you, we almost always try to allot one hour for one of us to be capturing your detail photos. Setting up each shot takes time, and we are kind of perfectionists when it comes to this stuff. So while we can do it in less time if necessary, we really try not to because we don’t want to rush through these images for you, especially if you have a lot of items. We typically take these photos right at the beginning of our day with you while you are getting ready. We simply ask that you have everything ready to go for us, all in one spot or in a box. That way as soon as we get there, we can grab all your pretty things and get to work.

Now that we have the timeline sorted out, what do you need to have ready to go?! Of course we have a list prepared for you (including items for both the bride and the groom). Save it, screenshot it, whatever you have to do! Some of the items on this list may not apply to you, and that is okay! Don’t feel like you need to have everything on this list. We’d rather have more on our list so you don’t ever forget something.

  • Rings (engagement and both wedding bands)
  • All jewelry you will be wearing (necklace, bracelet, earrings, additional rings, etc.)
  • Both bride’s and groom’s shoes
  • Perfume bottle
  • Hair piece
  • Veil
  • Whole invitation suite (maybe pack an extra just in case, but not necessary)
  • Ring box (if you have one)
  • Tie or bow tie
  • Tie clip
  • Cufflinks
  • Cologne bottle
  • Watch
  • Pocket square
  • Vow books (if you are using them)
  • Extra flowers from your florist*
  • Bouquet and boutonniere
  • Bouquet charm or handkerchief
  • Any other accessories you may have!

*Honestly, having extra loose flowers from your florist makes such a difference in your images! They really bring it all to life as well as tie in your wedding colors. And don’t worry, this is not an unusual request to ask your florist. But if the florist can’t get your blooms to you by the time we arrive, don’t sweat it. We bring a whole bag of goodies with us to incorporate into your photos.

We hope this blog post was helpful to you! We’ve said it before and we will say it again…we love all the details that go into your wedding day. We know how much time you’ve spent on everything, and we want to make sure you have the photos to forever look back on. As always, we are always here to help if you need anything!
