The music changed. The sweet melodies ensuing from the organ in the balcony of the church filled the air and set the tone for what was about to unfold. A real-life fairytale. Think Cinderella entering the ball and catching everyone’s attention but make it more romantically emotional and literally happening right in front of us. The door to the bridal suite opened. Brandon took a deep breath and everyone waited in anticipation. Megan’s parents greeted her as she stepped out of the room to the end of the aisle. Dressed in her elegant ball gown and cathedral veil (quite literally looking like a real-life Disney princess) she proudly linked arms with her Mom and Dad. Standing close to Brandon, we are positive that we heard him take a second deep breath as his eyes began to water. Their eyes met and in that moment it was just them. Nothing else mattered. Brandon tried to keep his composure while Megan couldn’t help but smile. The smile on her face is something that we cannot even begin to describe. She was beaming. She was so incredibly happy to finally see Brandon. They both knew that there were only a few short moments keeping them from being husband and wife. There wasn’t a dry eye in the pews as she made her joyful walk down the aisle. It was such a magical, powerful moment. And it’s one that is currently on replay as we reflect upon their day.
We’re sure by now that you all know that we prefer a non-traditional first look before the ceremony, but wow. This moment between Megan and Brandon in church has us in our feels. If we weren’t trying to capture this moment with our words we’d tell you that we are speechless. It’s a delightful reminder for us that what works for one couple on their wedding day might not work for another, and that’s the beauty of planning YOUR special day. Megan and Brandon emphasized how important it was for them to wait to see each other and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We learned very quickly from their engagement session that everything Megan and Brandon do is intentional and meaningful. They pour their entire hearts into their relationship and have such a strong bond because of it. They find pure happiness in each other. And they both strive for perfection in all that they do together and as individuals making them very mindful and dedicated. So it truly comes as no surprise to us that their first look was so effortlessly perfect for them. We love this moment even more because it really depicts who Megan and Brandon are. Brandon is such a funny guy and his heart beats for Megan, but he can also be more reserved. And the way he tried to hold back his emotions upon first seeing her is a very fitting and sweet reaction. And on the flip side, Megan is truly beautiful inside and out. She has such a sweet and caring personality that is well complemented by her outgoing joy. Hence her radiant happiness touching everyone in church as she locked eyes with Brandon. They say that opposites attract and we definitely think that is a true statement. Megan and Brandon bring out the best in each other and fit together so perfectly. They balance one another out and just truly have SO much love for one another. In simpler terms, we adore everything about them.
Megan & Brandon (or are we close enough now to call you Sugarplum & B? Because we love those nicknames so much), thank you. Thank you so much for choosing us and trusting us with your love story. In the grand scheme of things we were just a tiny part of something so big and magical, so thank you for filling our hearts with the joy that you two share. We absolutely loved how perfect your day was. We loved spending alone time with you at Royal Melbourne while you shared your vows during your first touch. Especially because Megan said something along the lines that she’s “always the bridesmaid but never the bride” until your wedding day where she literally embodied a princess. We loved how the storm clouds rolled in but the rain held out until we were ready for the party to commence and even brought you a rainbow. We adore your second first look as you, Brandon, were completely shocked at Megan’s surprise dress change. We’re so obsessed with how hyped your wedding party was all day and how you two can break it down on the dance floor like no one is watching. You two truly are #PerfectlyPorth and we cannot wait to see the beauty that unfolds as you build your life together! Cheers to forever!
