The lights were dimmed low. The urban organic beauty of Teachout Events enhanced this powerful moment. Elizabeth and Matt stood hand-in-hand holding back their tears while smiling at one another. Scanning the room, they had their closest people standing beside them. One of whom was wearing the important hat of marrying them. That’s when we heard it. The delicate strumming of the guitar strings. And then she began to sing. One of Elizabeth’s dearest friends/bridesmaid led worship to It Is Well. Everyone’s eyes were closed, their hearts were open, and they sang along. Some people shed happy tears, others raised their hands in worship, and all enjoyed the moment.

We used the word powerful. That’s because that’s exactly what this moment was. Elizabeth and Matt waited for what seemed like forever to find each other. But they always knew that it was in God’s hands. To witness their love for God on such an important day was breathtaking, simply because we know how much love they have for each other. And they love each other like crazy. Anyone who knows them can tell you how incredibly excited they were to marry each other. This is a perfect explanation of who they are as both individuals and a couple. Passionate and devoted. It is clear as day to see what was most important to them. Their love for one another and their relationship with the Lord. Not to be a broken record, but it was just so powerful and moving to witness. Especially because their faith is so strong and pure that they didn’t need to celebrate in a church to feel His love. They were surrounded by love, emotions, and support.

Elizabeth and Matt, we are still speechless every time we think about you two and your love for one another. We learned very quickly how compelling you two are together during your engagement session. You have an abundance of admiration for one another and everyone around you. It’s heartwarming! We cannot express our gratitude enough for including us in your special day. It was a celebration that we hold very dear to our hearts. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for the two of you!

P.S. We want to make a note that we absolutely love our clients’ church weddings too! This blog post is not meant to say that one is better than the other. We have just never experienced a wedding day quite like Elizabeth and Matt’s and we felt called to share about it through this specific moment.
