They both reached their hands out. For a moment they were standing still, both searching. And then they felt it. That warm, comforting touch. The hand that they had been wanting to hold since the morning. They held on tightly as they each stood on either side of the grand brick wall of St. Raphael’s Church. They couldn’t see each other, but as soon as their hands met, Megan and David both beamed brighter than the sun. And we think that they felt each other’s joy. All the worries of the morning just melted away. They stood there giggling but both of them were speechless. The silence was calming. Their touch spoke volumes. And just being in one another’s presence for their first touch was both an emotional and magical experience for them. They both needed this moment more than they knew. It was magical because moments before David made his way outside, Megan braced herself against the wall in anticipation. She was shivering and shaking, but she said she wasn’t cold. Her adrenaline and excitement took over and made her numb to the chill in the air. Butterflies filled her stomach. And she was a mix of nerves and pure joy. As a matter of fact, those feelings began the moment that she put her dress on! It was all becoming so real. But as soon as she held onto David’s hand, we could see all of those feelings and emotions just disappear. She was right where she was supposed to be, and we know that he felt the same way too. David joked that he could feel Megan’s hand shaking, so we like to think that at that moment, she felt the cold of the day and nothing else but a warm, happy heart.

Magical is the perfect word to describe this simple, love-filled part of Megan and David’s day. They are traditional, but knew that they would both be happier having a moment together. And we are so glad that they opted for a first touch. It shows us that they don’t like being a part for too long. That their hearts are happiest when they are together. When they can hold on to one another. And for good reason because their embraces are so sweet. Their smiles never leave their faces. And we can’t get over how they kind of just melt into each other with a sense of contentment and a whole lot of love. Megan and David already know this, but one of our favorite poses is to have them simply hug. It’s a normal moment with such raw, unfiltered emotion. We’re obviously not over it, especially from their dreamy engagement session. It shows us that they find comfort in each other. They are meant to be with one another and fit together so perfectly in all aspects of their lives. As normal as the nerves and excitement leading up to the first touch and the ceremony were, they showed us a deeper meaning. Megan and David’s hearts were so ready to be joined together in union. They couldn’t bear the wait any longer. They needed to see each other and to finally be married. How beautifully crazy is that? To love someone SO much that your body doesn’t know how to handle it so you shake with excitement and nerves. That’s just how much they adore each other. When they look at one another we see the sparks fly. They make each other effortlessly happy. Megan and David share an easygoing love. They are romantic and sentimental. And there is no doubt that they will have a beautiful, long life together.

Megan and David, we adore you! Literally everything about you two and your relationship is perfect. From the comical stories of how you two met to the overwhelming love you feel at your favorite spot, your relationship is dreamy. It’s fairytale-worthy. And your wedding day was honestly a dream come true. Your radiant happiness makes us happy. Your sweet love and caring gestures towards one another warms our hearts. And Megan, your “anything for the photo” attitude literally makes us jump for joy. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be a part of the magic that was your day and is your love story! We will never stop obsessing over you two and we hope you know that you will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Cheers to your love now and forever! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cook!
